About Care Alongside

Why we exist

Finding good care for a parent or spouse at home is one of the harder things a family goes through. The words are unfamiliar, the prices are confusing, and most of the information out there is written for insiders, not for the daughter or son who is suddenly trying to figure it all out — often late at night, often in a second language.

Care Alongside exists to make that moment a little easier. We explain private-pay, non-medical in-home care in plain words, and we offer a free way to get matched with vetted providers near you. We are not a home-care agency and we are not a medical provider — we're the friendly guide who walks alongside you while you decide.

What "free for families" really means

Our service costs families nothing. When we introduce a family to a provider, that provider pays us a flat fee — never a percentage of what you pay for care. That means we have no reason to push you toward more hours or a more expensive plan. Our only job is a good match.

What we do — and don't — do

We do: explain the kinds of in-home care, give honest cost ranges, help you think through how much care is needed, and match you with private-pay providers, including ones who speak your language.

We don't: give medical advice, collect medical histories or health records, arrange Medicare-certified home health or Medicaid services, or make promises about outcomes. For medical care, always talk to a licensed clinician.

In your language

This whole site is available in ten languages, and when you ask, we try to match you with caregivers who speak the language your family is most comfortable in. Care should never get harder because of a language barrier.
