Where families usually start

Not sure what kind of help you need yet? That's normal. Here are the most common kinds of in-home care.

How Care Alongside works

Four simple steps. No pressure at any point, and free for families from start to finish.

Tell us what's going on

Share your city and what kind of help your family is looking for. It takes a couple of minutes, and we never ask for medical records.

We match you, free

We connect you with vetted, private-pay in-home care providers near you — including ones who can speak your language.

You talk and compare

Speak with providers, ask questions, and compare. There's no obligation and no pressure to decide.

Choose what feels right

Pick the provider your family is comfortable with — or take more time. The choice is always yours.

What in-home care usually costs

A few hours a week
$25–$40 / hr
Companion or homemaker help
Daily hands-on help
$28–$45 / hr
Personal-care aide
Live-in / 24-hour
$300–$450 / day
Varies a lot by area

These are typical US ranges to help you plan — not quotes. Real cost depends on the hours, the level of care, and where you live. We'll always be honest about this.

Care with someone in your corner

Care Alongside is a free, multilingual service that helps families in the United States understand private-pay in-home care — caregivers, companions, and home aides for an aging or recovering loved one — and get matched, at no cost, with vetted home-care providers near them.

  • Always free for families — providers pay a flat fee, never a share of your bill
  • No medical history, ever — we only ask about contact details and what you need
  • Private-pay, non-medical in-home care — explained in plain words
  • Help available in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and more

Questions families ask first

Is Care Alongside really free for families?
Yes. Our service is always free for families. Participating providers pay us a flat fee when we make an introduction — never a share of what you pay for care.
Do you arrange Medicare or Medicaid home health?
No. We focus on private-pay, non-medical in-home care — help like companionship, homemaking, and personal care. For Medicare-certified home health or Medicaid services, speak with your doctor or your state's program directly.
Will you ask for medical history or health records?
Never. We only ask general questions — your name, city, language, how to reach you, and what kind of help you're looking for. No diagnoses, no medications, no records.
Can you find a caregiver who speaks our language?
Often, yes. When you tell us your preferred language, we try to match you with providers who have caregivers who speak it.
